Groom's Wedding Toast - Sample One:
I would like to start my toast by raising my glass to my wife’s parents. Wow. When I say those words, “my wife’s parents,” I have to stop for a moment. It makes me feel so great to say that, “my wife,” that I can’t resist first toasting this most special person in my life: this beautiful woman beside me here, my wife. Thank you for becoming that. Today, I understand “radiance.” I may not look radiant, as she
does, but I feel radiant, believe me! And today, I vow to uphold my bride’s, my wife’s, radiance forever. I believe that it’s made fully of happiness.
And now I can return to what I meant to toast when I stood up, properly and from the bottom of my heart: my new set of parents, as well as my own, lifelong parents, all of whom are sitting right here with happiness on their faces nearly as bright as my own. To those who taught both my wife and me how to love with our whole hearts and minds and attentiveness by their examples and caring, I raise my glass today, and I thank them. Thank you for teaching us well and getting us safely to this day. Thank you, especially, for all that you have done to make this celebration and this gathering what it is: an expression of our love within the strong and welcoming circle of our families and friends.
Those who stood up with us today in our ceremony include both family members and friends and some who qualify as both. I would like to offer a toast to you, too, for what you said when you stood up with us as part of our wedding party is that you believe in the two of us and our love and our commitment to each other. In standing up alongside us today, you made our vows stronger. Thank you.
So, to my wife and all my parents and all of you here with us on this greatest day of my life, thank you for being here with us and for us and part of us. Le’chayem! Long life! Happiness!
And I cannot set down this glass without just one more thank you, to all my great old and new and wise and crazy friends who have put on suits on a weekend to be here with us. You are not just my friends, you are my wife’s friends, too, just as, I hope, her friends are mine (though I don’t expect to be included in their book club any time soon). God. Life can be so excellent! Without all of you gathered here with us, my wife and I would not be who we are today nor would we have found our way here, before you, happiness incarnate.
And thankful
