So you've proposed, your true love has accepted, and you're going to get married.  One of the first things you’ll need to do is to choose someone to stand beside you at the wedding, but before you get started, you should understand the duties of the best man.  It can be disastrous to pick someone who is incapable of performing the duties of the best man, and it would be terribly embarrassing to ask someone to do it, only to find out that his age or temperament prohibits him from carrying out his duties.  Here are a few tips that should help you select who is capable of fulfilling the duties of the best man.
